Terms for Ammunition Sales
- Outfitters 4 Africa sells quality ammunition procured from various suppliers and licensed manufacturers. Nevertheless, the following are relevant issues:
1.1 It is known that not all ammunition is well suited to all firearms and that semi-automatic firearms may not function reliably with all ammunition, even though of the correct calibre.
1.2 It is the Customer’s sole responsibility to determine that any ammunition supplied by Outfitters 4 Africa is compatible with their particular firearm(s).
1.3 Ammunition may degrade over time, a process exacerbated by fluctuations in temperature and moisture.
- Outfitters 4 Africa encourages qualifying Customers to buy ammunition in bulk, through quantity discounts, and wishes to offer Customers peace-of-mind with these purchases. Within 90 days of purchase, should you find that any ammunition you bought from us is unsuitable for your firearm(s):
2.1 We will gladly exchange any unused, unopened, undamaged boxes of ammunition for alternative brands, weights, shapes or options.
2.1.1 Several “Boxes” are normally included in a “case lot”, when buying in bulk.
2.1.2 It is acceptable to return unopened “case lots”, and/or unopened “boxes” of ammunition.
2.1.3 Loose cartridges and/or partial boxes cannot be accepted for return.
2.2 When offering the Customer alternative ammunition, the exchange will be made on a value for value basis and not quantity for quantity.
2.2.1 The customer may accept a different quantity of the alternate ammunition to closely match the value of the returned ammunition.
2.3 Any price adjustment will be made, whether requiring refund by Outfitters 4 Africa or pay-in by the Customer.
2.4 In line with our policy on Back-orders and Special Orders, special orders and/or custom orders of ammunition are NOT refundable and can NOT be cancelled.
2.4.1 Special orders refer to ammunition brands, calibers, weights, shapes, etc. that Outfitters 4 Africa does not normally stock, and that you request us to procure for you.
2.4.2 Custom orders refer to ammunition that you request us to procure for you from a commercial ammunition manufacturer where this ammunition has been loaded to your specifications, whether or not Outfitters 4 Africa has assisted, consulted or advised in these specifications.
2.5 The Firearms Control Act (FCA) limits or restricts the quantity of ammunition that a person may possess.
2.5.1 Outfitters 4 Africa will only supply ammunition to the holder of a valid firearm license where the licensed firearm is suitable to discharge said ammunition.
2.5.2 Unless you are a “dedicated person”, Outfitters 4 Africa will supply a maximum of 200 cartridges against any particular license issued under the FCA.
- Outfitters 4 Africa is not responsible for any damages or injury sustained through using ammunition supplied by Outfitters 4 Africa but will gladly assist Customers in addressing such claims with the applicable manufacturer.
Terms for Firearm Sales
- All firearms are sold for the full purchase price and the full purchase price is payable up front.
1.1 Any special orders (not in stock at Outfitters 4 Africa) require payment in full, or as agreed, before Outfitters 4 Africa will, or will make arrangements to, procure said firearm.
1.2 Should any other payment terms be agreed between the parties; Outfitters 4 Africa may increase the advertised price appropriately (typically 5%).
1.3 The purchase price includes one SAPS 271 license application form and one temporary authorisation (if the latter is requested at the time of purchase).
1.3.1 Additional forms, duplicate copies or reprints, including temporary authorisations, attract an additional charge.
- Ownership of the firearm passes to the Purchaser with full payment of the purchase price and upon the firearm being taken into stock at Outfitters 4 Africa. Outfitters 4 Africa will only hand the firearm over upon presentation of a legally issued firearm license or permit and the licensee paying any outstanding storage fees.
2.1 Outfitters 4 Africa will not charge any storage fees while license applications are pending, for a period of up to 12 calendar months commencing on the first of the month in which the firearm was purchased.
2.2 Outfitters 4 Africa may levy storage fees thereafter at their prevailing rate, and as amended annually.
- Outfitters 4 Africa stores all firearms at the owner’s risk in a SAPS approved safe or strong room conforming to SABS standards.
3.1 Outfitters 4 Africa personnel will make all reasonable attempts to ensure that firearms are safely and securely stored, and that they are maintained in a good condition.
3.2 Please note that firearms are not insured.
3.3 Since firearms may be stored off site, customers must advise Outfitters 4 Africa of license approval at least 5 working days prior to collecting a firearm.
- In the event that a firearm purchase is cancelled for whatever reason, Outfitters 4 Africa undertakes to assist the owner in selling the firearm under conditions agreed between the parties at that time.
4.1 Notwithstanding this, Outfitters 4 Africa may refund the purchase price of normally-stocked firearms, less a 20% restocking fee.
4.2 Notwithstanding this, should a license application be denied for whatever reason, and a subsequent appeal also fails, Outfitters 4 Africa may refund the purchase price of normally-stocked firearms, less a 10% restocking fee.
4.3 The Customer must supply documentary proof that the license application has not been submitted, or that the license application has been officially cancelled, or that the license application was denied by the SAPS (e.g. the refusal letter)
4.4 Outfitters 4 Africa reserves the right to recover costs (such as storage fees, maintenance, etc.) against said sale before transferring ownership or possession to any other party, although the initial purchaser remains ultimately liable for such amounts.
